Fortnite Playstation 5 Epic Games Xbox Series Console

The Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are set to release in November 2020, and along with it will come a lot of big-name competitive titles from the current-gen, including Fortnite

Fortnite is set to be released on the next-generation of consoles on their launch dates, November 10th for the Xbox Series X/S, and November 12th/19th for Playstation 5.

During the recent Playstation 5 Showcase event, a new trailer was shown off for Fortnite to show how the game will look on next-generation hardware. There will be a graphical overhaul for the new Nvidia 3000 series of GPUs too.

In addition to the visual improvements, some sound and animation changes could hint at changes to come over the season. There appeared to be a new death animation and sound, which hasn't changed since the game launched in 2017. A character was also seen using the Chug Jug with a unique audio sound and a new Rocket Launcher sound.

With the massive jump in hardware, Fortnite will likely be playable in 4K, like it can be on PC, and take advantage of the next-gen consoles ability to run games at 120fps.

Sony recently acquired a minority stake in Epic Games after a $250 million investment, meaning there will likely be more of a partnership between the 2, which could mean more Playstation exclusive cosmetics for the game. Stay tuned as Fortnite debuts on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S soon.
